Well I took a little time out last evening to recharge my batteries and to watch a couple of programs on Netflix. The one I want to talk about is a movie called "Rumors of Wars". I of course immediately recognized the title as something from scriptures(IE the bible) so I wanted to see just how it was done. It does not have very good ratings on Netflix, but I decided to give it a shot anyway.
The premise of the movie really is a depiction of a future time, probably not too far off in the future given the events we see unfolding today. I most certainly see large portions of this coming true in a time frame sooner than most would think. The sad part is in the movie is that people actually wanted the promise of security, and the promise to end the terrorism, wars, and attacks and they were willing to give up their privacy, their access to the economy, their ability to do anything in exchange for the promise of a little security. Of course that is never going to happen when the very people promising the security, and the end of wars are the very people causing the attacks, chaos, and uncertainty in the first place. All as part of a greater scheme to control everything... Even the world. So people welcomed the these changes in exchange for everything.
This movie is kind of a cheezy B grade movie. Unfortunately it is a little too bible centric in it's focus. I am a follower of the Messiah, and a Christian, but I am not blind to the fact that it will be anyone who opposes losing their rights, freedoms, and ability to live as they choose who will be persecuted. NOT just CHRISTIAN's. However the references from the Bible build the case that these things have been told to us so that we know what to expect, what we will face, and what we will have to do about it.
The center piece in this film is the global chipping of everyone with an RFID type chip. The chip determines if your allowed to buy anything, sell anything, buy groceries, or fuel. Without the chip you cannot be seen by a doctor, or allowed into public buildings. The chip is used to track your every movement. Your chip tracks the calories you eat and rations what your allowed to eat or buy. Every aspect of your life is tracked, monitored, and controlled. It is all part of a bigger theme that all of the wars were caused by religion and without religion we will have peace and security. It is a new world order, a new world government. At the push of a button any person could be cut off, and with social engineering all aspects of your life are controlled.
The movie has some interesting plot lines and some interesting references. The characters are somewhat transparent and anyone who understands bible prophesy about these times will see it all coming before the story takes you there. However it is a good reminder of the times we live in, and the things we must choose to do, to live in this "society", and yet keep our own freedom, identity, our spirituality, and our souls.
I don't think I would tell everyone to watch this movie as a top pick on your "must see list". I felt like I was watching a more religious version of the movie Equilibrium. If you haven't seen that movie I do recommend seeing it. However there is no reference to anything spiritual, mostly references to anything that provokes an emotional reaction being illegal.
So I thought Rumors of Wars was interesting. If your a Christian I think it is worth you time to take a look. However this could have been a much better done film. And we are left at the end just hanging... So check it out if you have some free time. I also wanted to mention to Christians who think they will be raptured before these events... You better read your bible again. I think if your game plan is that your suddenly out of here as these things continue to unfold as we speak today you are fooling yourself and clearly are missing the point of the scriptures telling us about these events. We are to be watchman, and to be prepared.
If your not a Christian you might find the prophecy info enlightening. However you will have to get past the cheesy B grade movie that this is. I think anyone who is a prepper will get the theme here and will identify with the course and direction things are going. I don't think you have to be a Christian to appreciate the doomsday tone and direction this film takes. So if you don't mind some religious references then by all means check it out.
I strongly urge everyone to Be Prepared which is the point of a blog like this. To take steps daily, to make "the economy" not the center of our lives, but to live sustainably within our communities. To take steps to break our dependence in all areas of our lives so that we can choose the path that allows us the freedom to live as we see fit, and to have a life that is more abundant.
Have a wonderful day, God Bless!
